HEATING: The house is heated by an oil fired Worcester Bosch Greenslave Combi condenser boiler, and adjustable thermostatic radiators. Each radiator has a thermostatic valve should you get too warm. Hence there is constant hot water available 'on tap'. The house is well insulated and being stone stays cool in summer, and is cosy in winter.

There is a 5ft pine dresser with lots of drawers with various useful items in such as tea-towels. It also houses Denby crockery including teapot, caters for six complete place settings, plus four further spare plates, bowls, dishes and cutlery so that you can load the dishwasher at your leisure. There is a portable Panasonic CD player for you to listen to relaxing chill out music (whilst rocking on the beechwood rocking chair). Enjoy watching the birds feed on the birdfeeder through the front lounge window.

We’ve provided many books and maps on Gower (walking guides, shipwrecks, natural history of Gower, food of Wales, Gower pictorials, etc) as well as leaflets on key tourist attractions. See also the other pages on this site (birdwatching, cinema, theatre, sports activities etc including useful other web links).

GARDEN: The front garden has a wooden bench to sit and read or enjoy watching the sheep wander up and down the road. You can hear the water trickle out of the artesian spring across the road (tastes good too). Just outside the back French doors into the patio area, is a small table with four chairs, and umbrella. You will also find a Winchester gas powered B-B-Q (the type with lid, and side shelves, auto-electric start) complete with a gas bottle for your use (plus a set of B-B-Q tongs etc). PROVIDING A QUALITY SERVICE AND LISTENING TO GUESTS COMMENTS

We leave our guest book comments at the cottage for other guests to see, and since 23 July 06 when we first took bookings, this demonstrates how pleased our past guests have been with the cottage and our service. As this has been a new venture for us, we have also listened to our guests where they have, at our express request, suggested something we could do to improve, and have recently added (some examples) a set of tongs for multifuel logburner,  a Panasonic CD player & CDs, dressing table mirror and stool for back bedroom, coffee table/nest of tables for beside chairs in the lounge, additional lighting in dining room (standard lamp now in place), cookware, lasagne dish, casserole dish, two handled hobpot, extra cutlery & t-towels, some written directions to nearest supermarket (see "directions" page), full size luxury gas BBQ in barden, complete with gas bottle, a coffee perculator, a water jug, two stairgates to ensure safety of little ones, hairdryer, new shorter light fitting in hallway, porch coat pegs, BUSH 32" widescreen TV for lounge, set on tilting platform to enable full view from all chairs, extra towel pegs in bathroom and kitchen, improved kitchen bin facility, sugar bowl, milk jug to match teapot, teacosy, a clothes horse, closing latches on bedroom door, a most attractive pine fireplace surround in front bedroom (complete with fun cat and dog ornaments), all NOW DONE! and all issues raised by guests at our own express request in striving to improve. We will continue to listen to suggestions to make your stay relaxing and convenient. Four of our first eight bookings have already reserved weeks for next year, almost all of the others have made it known they would be keen to return soon. One lady visiting with her daughter and grandchildren in August 06 was so keen on the cottage and location that she returned with her husband in September 06.

Our own experience is that when we go away we want to have all the normal luxuries of home life and not do without them for the one time you have off work (holidays are the only time we can spend time enjoying them). Therefore we have done our best to offer quality and convenience together with character. We like to invest any income back into the cottage and our guests to make their stay special e.g. provide SKY TV with full movies/sport package, loads of books and games, fresh flowers on arrival, regular new bedding, all linen and bedding provided, cleaning materials, quality crockery and cutlery etc.

If there is anything we can reasonably provide to you let us know. We live nearby in Llanrhidian so we can lend a hand if you have any problems during your stay.

If you do book, and we really hope you do, then we wish you a great stay! If you choose not to this year, and are disappointed with your cottage elsewhere, remember us for next time.

Kind regards

Chris and Phil Evans
